New Year, New Me :)

I'm going to the gym today, not going over 1600cals and having TACOS for din din. All in all an excellent start to cold January day.

It's a New Dawn, It's a New Day

There has been a new Weight Watchers commercial cutting into my TV time. Recently thin Jennifer Hudson shed a bunch of weight via WW and is now literally singing their praises. I tried and failed with WW in the summer of 2009, lasted about 8 weeks. I don't recall losing anything, but in WW's defense I didn't work the program either.

I problem with diets is I don't like doing the work, the exercise, the hungry and the mental bargaining.

I thought about my blog today and wished I didn't tell any of my friends about it. I haven't made any real big strides to reduce my girth since starting. Although, I have been counting calories I have gone over some days, only staying under 1600cals 3 times in the last week. It's hard.

Here is to a better day tomorrow.

Wheel-O-Cheese and a Salty Mess

Yesterday was a bad day for food:

Breakfast: Tim Horton’s
Lunch: McDonlad’s
Dinner: Subway (turkey/whole wheat vegs-best choice I made all day)

Calorie Count after dinner was 1834 over by 234.

Stress is a big eating trigger for me. My delightful little bully puppy decided to pee on the bed twice in one day which in turn sent the left over Oka cheese in the fridge along with a box of crackers into my tum tum. FML

Calorie Count after a box of crackers and half a wheel of cheese (cheese 3cm cube 110cal) + 1834…..I don’t even want to know.

All of the best intentions to stay strong and beat the urge to eat everything salty in sight but failed. There should be a help line or support group for binge or emotional eaters, I bet there probably is. I feel a google session coming on and possibly the purchase of lame self help book.

Anyways, I’m going to try to curb my demons today and cap off at the 1600 target.

Feel better side note: I had a 1250cal day on Wednesday Jan 5th.

Still 180…I hope...

This is why I'm FAT!

Mcdonald's medium fries is equivalent to 45 min of jogging. ugh

What I had for lunch....
Big Mac Meal - 920cal Fat -43 Carbs-93

Did not feel great after I plugged it into my Calorie Counter by FatSecret.

Really feel like a Fatty today, decided to look at this website after realizing I’m my own worst enemy.

Calorie Counter by FatSecret

I HATE tracking calories, can't stand it. The Calorie Counter App by FatSecret has helped me and it was FREE. Check Blackberry App World and download right away lets track together. My daily calorie cap is 1600.

The Calorie Counter application has all the cool tools to help you succeed:

- A food quick pick to find calorie and full nutrition information.
- A food diary to plan and keep track of what you’re eating.
- An activity diary to record all the calories you burn.
- A weight chart.
- A journal to record your progress.

I am the pleasantly plump lady on the left. Good picture to showcase my current size, also you can size me up.
The problem with blogging….

No angle, no motivation. Time after time I jump into projects, courses, commitments, social events and fitness routines with all of the best intentions to follow them through but abandon them as quickly as I start. This isn’t a blogging problem it’s a life problem, a character flaw or a bevy of personal failures (harsh). Wow, my personal observation is a touch depressing but I'm here for change and to break the sting of old habits.

I’m sure they’re people out there just like me, that wake up striving to be that A-type personality who finishes everything they start but realizes at the end of the day watching another episode of Millionaire Matchmaker banked in the PVR is soooooo much easier. I’d like to change, be motivation, finish what I set out to accomplish, learn about myself and challenge myself.

My BF noticed me playing around my old blog while I ignored the Canadian Juniors beat the USA and my super excited BF rejoice the big win. After he was finished his happy dance his focus was redirected to ME, he proceeded to explain to me why I failed at my last blog attempt.

His thoughts:

1. Topic too focused
2. Very time consuming
3. Costly

I agree with him but I’ll add a few things:

1. Laziness
2. Fear (Why does the interweb give a shit?)
3. Again, laziness

A blog needs some sort of direction focused on a topic but if you lose the drive and the passion that prompted you to create said blog....it’s doomed. That’s what happened to 365 days 208 recipes.

New Angle:

Some recipes, meal plans with the overall goal of losing 40 to 50 pounds by July 1st 2011. My weight has been bugging me for the past year but it’s hard work to change your lifestyle let alone embark on a new one. So I'm going to write about my wins and failures as I attempt to lose the weight.

I've been joking with friends about not being “the fat bridesmaid” at my friend Sarah’s wedding coming up in July 2011. It’s funny now because it’s January 4, 2011, but time goes by quickly and I abandon projects faster than pop stars fall. My overall goal is to lose 40 to 50 pounds of bad food choices and my shallow, superficial goal is not to end up being a fat bridesmaid. I will be changing the name of the blog, adding a countdown clock, maybe some pictures of my current mass, I have a few other ideas too.

Stay tuned for the changes
